Course Title Petroleum Marketing
Date April 9 (Mon.)-April 26 (Thu.), 2012
Objective To provide participants with knowledge mainly about the petroleum marketing industry in Japan. This course also includes two workshops to provide relevant business skills.
Main Topics To gain a perspective of the world energy situation and the situation in Japan, participants will visit several sites related to marketing and logistics during this course. Additionally, a workshop will be held on finding solutions to business problems through discussion among participants from diverse backgrounds. A business simulation (game) will also be held to provide good practice in negotiation and in creating a balance sheet (B/S) and profit-and-loss statement (P/L) that would be useful in any business field.

  5. Workshop for business problem solving
  6. Simulation for negotiation and profit/loss recognition
  7. Visits to:
    • Oil companies (refinery/distributer)
    • A refinery offsite
    • A fuel supply system in an airport
    • A transportation company
Qualification Persons in a managerial position or with an equivalent background in a department of a national oil company or its subsidiary
