Objective To provide participants with a wide range of knowledge and practical skills, such as conventional control theory, PID tuning and APC development skills, and recent control technology
Main Topics To offer more practical training to understand APC by utilizing JCCP simulators

  1. Process control theories and practice
    • Process characteristics
    • PID controller
    • Tuning practice on miniature plants with DCS
  2. Advanced Process Control (APC) theories and practice
    • Model Predictive Control (MPC),etc.
  3. Engineering works using DCS
    • Control strategy of plant shutdown system
    • Controller drawing and data point configuration
  4. Practice of Operation Support System (OSS) Building
    • Outline and building practice of OSS
    • Operation practice of a miniature plant using OSS
  5. Practice of MPC by utilizing a simulator
  6. Visit to:
    • an instrument company
    • a DCS company
    • refineries
Prerequisites Engineers with a university degree and at least three years’ experience in process control, plant operation or DCS, or those with equivalent qualifications
