Objectives
The goal of this course is to learn about the Japanese government's basic strategy for realizing a sound material-cycle society that aims to make effective use of resources, as well as Japan's recycling technologies and initiatives, and to gain hints for promoting a circular economy and introducing recycling technologies in your country.

1. Lecture: ・ Circular economy in Japan ・Japan's energy situation and renewable energy ・Waste management and recycling in Japan 2. Site Visit: ・Oil company (Refinery) : Harmony with the Environment, Medium-term Management Plan ・Waste treatment plants : Waste treatment technology, Environmental measures ・Local governments introducing ecosystems : Various recycling businesses, Offshore wind power ・Plastic recycling company : Waste plastic recycling business ・Environmental and recycling company : Recovery of metals from automobile shredding dust, Generation of biofuel from waste cooking oil 3. Workshop:Toward building a recycling-oriented society ・Participants share problems and discuss solutions to those problems.

Qualification
Applicants are involved in the planning and installation of waste reduction and recycling system construction or will be involved in related work.
Priority will be given to those with practical experience in related fields. Mid-career to leadership class.
University graduate or above and have communication skills in English for everyday conversation and presentations.
