Japan Cooperation Center for Petroleum and Sustainable Energy (JCCP) recognizes the importance of protecting personal information. Accordingly, JCCP will handle personal information in compliance with personal information protection-related Japanese laws and regulations in order to ensure its full protection. Personal information will be handled in the following manner.
Use of Personal Information
Personal information acquired by this organization shall be used only within the scope necessary for the execution of its business, in light of the business objectives set forth in the organization’s Articles of Incorporation.
The specific purposes for which personal information will be used are as follows. In the event that personal information is used for purposes other than those listed below, the purpose of use will be notified or publicly announced on each occasion. (However, this excludes cases where the purpose of use is deemed obvious from the context of acquisition, or where there is no legal requirement to notify or announce the purpose.)
- To perform duties related or incidental to the programs in Japan for participants from oil and gas producing countries.
- To perform duties related or incidental to the dispatch of experts to oil and gas producing countries.
- To perform duties related or incidental to the hosting of conferences, seminars, etc., involving petroleum industry personnel from oil and gas producing countries and Japan.
- To perform duties related or incidental to surveys, research, and development.
- To perform duties necessary for the organization’s activities, such as various applications and reports to government agencies and public service organizations.
- To perform duties related or incidental to the management of supporting members.
- To perform duties related or incidental to various committees hosted by the Center.
- To perform duties related or incidental to public relations activities.
- To perform any other duties necessary for the execution of organization’s activities.
Protection and Management of Personal Information
JCCP will ensure the accuracy of the acquired personal information and protect and manage it stringently. All necessary security measures will be taken to prevent the acquired personal information from being leaked. We will not provide nor disclose the acquired personal information to the third party except where a prior consent of the individual identified by such personal information is obtained or except where permitted by laws or regulations. In case where we provide the personal information to the third party after obtaining a prior consent of the individual identified by such personal information, we will request in writing the third party to manage such personal information stringently and appropriately. In case where we commission part of our operations to the third party in order to implement our business purposes, we will oblige the third party in our business contract to manage the personal information appropriately we have provided.
Notification, Disclosure, Correction, Discontinuation of Personal Information, and Other Rights
In case where the individuals identified by such personal information request us to notify them of the usage purpose, to disclose, to correct their personal information as well as to discontinue the use of their personal information, we will respond to them appropriately and promptly.
Establishment and Implementation of Regulations Related to Personal Information Management
We will establish internal regulations to manage personal information in compliance with Personal Information Protection Law and other applicable laws and regulations.
