The 26th Japan-Saudi Arabia Joint Symposium was held at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia on November 7 and 8, 2016 and it was hosted by 4 entities namely Saudi Aramco, KFUPM, the Japan Petroleum Institute (JPI) and JCCP.
In the opening of the symposium, opening remarks were addressed by His Excellency Dr. Khaled S. Al-Sultan, Rector of KFUPM, Mr. Eiji Hiraoka, Senior Executive Director of JCCP and Dr. Keiichi Tomishige, Professor of Tohoku University and head of JPI delegation. It was a very big event with over 100 audiences included researchers, KFUPM students and Japanese companies in region.
The main theme was “Technology in Petroleum Refining & Petrochemicals” and there were 23 presentations. The subjects of presentations were spread widely from catalysts to corrosions as Saudi Aramco had become one of host organization since the 25th symposium in last year. There were many questions and answers were briskly exchanged.
