“The 18th Kuwait-Japan Joint Symposium” was held at Petroleum Research Center of Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) on February 5 and 6, 2018 and it was hosted by 4 entities namely KISR, Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), the Japan Petroleum Institute (JPI) and JCCP.
In the opening of the symposium, opening remarks were addressed by Dr. Samira A.S. Omar, Director General, KISR, His Excellency Mr. Takashi Ashiki, Japanese Ambassador to State of Kuwait, Dr. Saud Al-Radwan, Manager, R & T, KNPC, Mr. Eiji Hiraoka, Senior Managing Director of JCCP and Dr. Naonobu Katada, Professor of Tottori University. There were over 120 audiences included KISR researchers, KNPC staffs and Japanese companies in region.
The main theme was “Advancement in Petroleum Industries” and there were 23 presentations which covered from catalysts to corrosions. There were many questions and answers briskly exchanged.
