Project Report

On October14, 2026, Prof. Haruhiko Ando, CEO of JCCP, participated as a distinguished panelist in the plenary session titled “Pathways to an Energy Future for All” at the 25th WPC Energy Congress held in Riyadh, SaudiArabia.
The session addressed the critical strategic necessity of balancing security of supply, sustainability, and economic affordability while meeting rapidly rising global energy demand.
During the panel, Prof. Ando outlined Japan’s historical pathway toward energy security, highlighting how the nation actively pursued energy diversification and energy-efficiency technology development. He underscored JCCP’s vital role in building long-standing trust and friendship with oil-producing nations over the past 45 years through human resource/capital development and technical cooperation. Furthermore, while acknowledging the ongoing importance of long-term contracts for supply stability, he emphasized that nurturing early-stage ” 0 to 1″ technological innovation is indispensable to prepare for future market uncertainties and risks.
