Course Title Project Management for High-Value-Added Petroleum Industry

Objective
To promote understanding of project management from the point of view of the owner side, and to improve project management and leadership abilities to create a high-value-added petroleum industry in the future
Main Topics
Participants will discuss petroleum and petrochemical business integration projects as a typical example of generating high added value in the petroleum industry. 
1.	Project management activities as project owners in refineries 
2.	Project cost management
3.	Practical exercise & Group discussion 
・	Problems in project management based on experience, and countermeasures
・	The challenge of planning projects for a high-value-added petroleum industry 
4.	Visits to: 
・	A refinery and plant--to study petroleum business and petrochemical business integration projects in Japan 
・	An engineering company--to study EPC project schedule  management and HSE evaluation
・	An engineering company—to study EPC project engineering by utilizing IT
・	A high pressure vessel manufacturer--to understand recent technologies for high pressure vessel manufacturing
・	A boiler and turbine manufacturer--to study recent turbine and boiler technologies 
・	A pipe manufacturer—to study recent material technologies for pipelines.
* EPC: Engineering, Procurement and Construction
Qualification
Mid-career engineers with a university degree and at least five years’ experience in the construction, maintenance or planning in the petroleum industry, or those with equivalent qualifications
