Objectives
To provide knowledge, from the basics to the latest technology, to maintenance engineers (management level) of static equipment (excluding electricity, instrumentation, and rotary machinery). The course covers plant materials technologies, corrosion protection technologies, management methods, inspection methods, and maintenance at oil refining facilities.
Main Topics
1. Lecture:
- Materials and corrosion management technologies for static equipment.
- Case study discussion and workshop: Material deterioration and corrosion, and their mechanisms and countermeasures.

2. Site Visit:
- Refinery: Life-cycle evaluation and management procedure
- Engineering company: Corrosion cases and countermeasures. Latest design and technology for plant life-cycle extension.
- Maintenance company: Adequate inspection for life-cycle evaluation
- Steel pipe and pressure vessel manufacturer: Latest corrosion management technologies, corrosion mechanism.

Qualification
Mechanical/maintenance manager or engineer of static equipment maintenance (excluding electricity, instrumentation and rotary machinery) with more than five years of experience in this field, with university graduates, or those with equivalent qualifications.
Project Report

This course was held to provide knowledge, from the basics to the latest technology, to maintenance engineers of static equipment. The course covered material selection, maintenance technologies, corrosion management, inspection methods. Lectures and site visits to Japanese companies were conducted.
