JCCP held a signing ceremony of Memorandum of AGREEMENT (MOA) with Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company(BSR)using web system due to the influence of COVID-19 to launch the technical cooperation project named “Technical Cooperation to Improve Refinery Competitiveness in Vietnam Phase-II” on 20th July, 2021. Mr. Bui Ngoc Duong, Vice President, BSR and Mr. Eiji Hiraoka, Senior Executive Director, JCCP signed the MOA. Staffs from PETROVIETNAM (PVN), a holding company of BSR and Mr. Jinichi Igarashi, president of ENEOS Research Institute, Ltd. (ERI), a participant company*, and other related persons, 15 in all, also participated in this ceremony. Mr. Vu Xuan Ninh, Deputy Manager of Gas & Petroleum Processing Division, PVN, mentioned PVN Group and JCCP strengthen friendly relations by implementing the projects at the beginning of the ceremony. Mr. Bui Ngoc Duong expressed his gratitude to the cooperation of JCCP and mentioned the expectations to the project.

This project will be conducted as a technical cooperation project following the joint project aiming at strengthening the competitiveness of BSR refinery. Japanese team is planning to implement technical support with regard to the production of petrochemicals and CO2 reduction in addition to refinery operational improvement. ERI and ENEOS Corporation participate in the project and provide their knowledges and experiences to promote it. The project is scheduled for the period from FY 2021 to 2023.
