On February 14, 2018, JCCP and Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise (MPE) held a signing ceremony at MPE to launch the “Joint Project on Quality Control System for Petroleum in Myanmar,” with the attendance of Mr. Aung Myint, Managing Director of MPE, and Mr. Eiji Hiraoka, Senior Executive Director of JCCP, as signers of the agreement. Also attending the ceremony were representatives of Ministry of Electricity and Energy of Myanmar and state-run oil companies in Myanmar, and members from two Japanese companies participating in the project, JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation and JX Nippon Research Institute, Ltd.
The goal of the project is to build a quality control system for petroleum products in Myanmar, and to provide both tangible and intangible support to MPE’s petroleum analysis laboratory. The project is JCCP’s first joint project with Myanmar, and is scheduled to run for three years, from fiscal 2017 to 2019.
