PERTAMINA, an Indonesian state-owned oil corporation, and JCCP concluded the agreement on joint project “Utilization of Sugarcane Bagasse or Other Biomass to Produce Low-Carbon Fuel“ at PERTAMINA head office in Jakarta on July 27, 2026. It was attended by Dr. Oki Muraza (*1), Deputy President Director and the second-highest executive of PERTAMINA, and Mr. Hana Timoti, SVP Tech. Innovation & Implementation; Mr. Masuda, Senior Executive Director and CTO of JCCP, and Mr. Noguchi, Deputy General Manager of JCCP technical cooperation Dept.; and Mr. Harada, consulting Engineer of Japan Oil Engineering CO., LTD.
The purpose of this project is to study the process and value chain to produce low carbon fuel from biomass (*2), which contribute to the carbon neutralization, widely produced as organic waste in Indonesia and JCCP and JOE will jointly propose the project plan.
Also, this project will be hoped to contribute to strengthen the relationship between Japan and Indonesia as an activity of AZEC (Asia Zero Emission Community).
