Objectives
Intended for instrument engineers, this course provides knowledge of a wide range of instrumentation, from field devices to DCS, and the basics of process control, as well as discussion on cutting-edge applications to improve instrumentation skills.

Lecture and Practice: ・Overview of Japanese petroleum industry ・Basic control theory (feedback control, PID control) ・Basic process control practice using a DCS simulator connected to miniature plant (PID parameter tuning) ・Basic cybersecurity ・Latest instrumentation & control systems 2. Site Visit: ・Instrumentation & control system manufacturer: Latest instrumentation & control systems ・Instrumentation device manufacturer: Technology of level gauge, displacement/vibration sensor, Control valve ・Refinery: Application of control systems, operation support systems, and information systems

Qualification
Engineers with at least one year of experience in instrumentation or DCS-related work, process control, or information systems, or those with equivalent qualifications.
Project Report
This course was held to provides the knowledge of wide range instrumentation from field devices to Distributed Control System (DCS), basics of process control, and enhances the knowledge on cutting-edge applications, through lectures, practices and visits of Japanese company.
