Training Methods

Training Courses in Japan provide not only classroom lectures, but also hands-on training, including simulator and computers, at JCCP Headquarters, and visits to refineries and engineering companies.

DCS simulator training

JCCP Headquarters is outfitted with three simulators, each of which is composed of three simulation components.
Each simulator provides a variety of oil refining process models, and can be used for operational training in the use of real facilities.
A miniature water tank model is used for various control exercises.

Training using CAI and simulator software

The CAI (Computer Assisted Instruction) room at JCCP Headquarters is equipped with enough personal computers for all participants of a given course, to provide each participant hands-on training in basic technologies, process control modeling, and case studies on production planning using a simplified refinery model, in conjunction with instructions given on a large monitor.

Onsite training at refineries

Participants of programs in Japan have an opportunity to receive lectures and study various technologies in direct reference to real, onsite equipment, at refineries throughout Japan.
Q&A interactions and discussions held during these on-site training sessions often prove to be highly meaningful and insightful to the participants.

Onsite training at equipment manufacturers and engineering companies

Onsite training is also held at plant equipment manufacturers, plant inspection companies, engineering companies, and instrument makers throughout Japan.
In addition to lectures and site tours, hands-on practical training is also offered at some of these sites.
