H.E. Mr. Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Japan, visited JCCP headquarters in Ikebukuro, Tokyo on February 25, 2025.
To date, JCCP has received 341 participants, dispatched 25 Japanese experts, and implemented four technical cooperation projects with Kazakhstan. Remarkably, there among them was a rare case where both a mother and the daughter are alumnae of those programs, and also the daughter’s husband. This fiscal year (FY2024), 7 participants attended Regular Courses, and 5 participants took part in Member Company Programs which is supported by JCCP. Additionally, in 2023, JCCP conducted Customized Program on Hydrogen Utilization Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Tokai University.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with the attendance of Prof. Uchida, Head of Tokai University’s Shizuoka Campus.
During the discussions, Ambassador Baudarbek-Kozhatayev expressed Kazakhstan’s strong commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. His Excellency highlighted that Japan was one of the first countries to recognize Kazakhstan’s independence and noted that in 2022, the two nations celebrated the 30th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. His Excellency also spoke about Japan’s hydrogen-related technologies and acknowledged the achievements of Kinbozan, the Kazakh sumo wrestler. He enthusiastically discussed key areas of cooperation between the two countries.
