Objective
To provide a different perspective on HRM by comparing Japanese HRM practices and systems with those adopted by the organizations of the participants, and to improve organizational HRM practices and individual HRM skills in the participants’ countries
Main Topics
Participants will acquire knowledge of Japanese-style HRM (J-HRM) through an understanding of Japanese history and culture as the basis of J-HRM, and will build capacities to plan and renovate HRM practices in their organizations.

1. History of Japan and the Japanese mentality
2. Introduction of J-HRM
    ・Overview of high economic growth in Japan
    ・Unique practices of J-HRM
3. Recent changes in J-HRM brought about by social changes in Japan and the globalization trend
    ・Japanese society
    ・Japanese companies and HRM
4. Present and future issues related to HRM of Japanese companies
5. Visits to:
    ・Oil companies
    ・An engineering company
    ・Refineries
    ・A national oil stockpiling base
    ・Others
Qualification
Managers or equivalent-level employees in the HR field with a university degree, or those with equivalent qualifications
