Objective
To provide knowledge of material selection, welding problems, material deterioration and countermeasures thereof for static equipment

Participants will be introduced to practical examples of
countermeasures to material problems in Japanese oil
refineries.

1. Material selection and welding technologies
2. Reliability evaluation of pressure vessels
3. Trouble experiences with refinery static equipment
4. Practical repair techniques in the refinery
5. Case study and discussion
6. Visits to:
 ・ A refinery
 ・ A welding rod maker
 ・ Vessel fabricators
 ・ A plant maintenance company
 ・ An engineering company
Qualification
Mechanical engineers (excluding electricity, instrumentation and rotary machinery engineers) with a university degree and at least five years’ experience in static equipment maintenance, or those with equivalent qualifications
