Objective
To provide knowledge of environmental management in order to develop problem solving skills and environmental management policies to realize sustainable social development
To understand the oil industry's responsibility for environmental conservation, share the efforts made by Japan's oil industry, and develop problem-solving skills
Main Topics
Through an understanding of environmental conservation efforts in Japan’s oil industry, participants are expected to recognize the responsibility of national oil companies to create a better environment. They will also discuss possible solutions to environmental issues in their company and the role they themselves might play in solving those issues. The latest environmental policies and technologies will also be introduced through visits to research centers and manufacturers in Japan. 
1.	Environmental management in Japanese refineries 
2.	Air pollution monitoring
3.	Soil and underground water pollution countermeasures
4.	Case presentation and class discussion 
Environmental issues and countermeasures in each company and the role of each participant in addressing an environmental problem in their company
5.	Visits to:
	Refinery
	Environment-related company
Environmental monitoring,
Waste water treatment, Waste disposal, 
Analyzer manufacturer
Qualification
Engineers with a university degree or equivalent and at least five years’ experience in environmental management, or persons in charge of environmental regulations
