Outline of JCCP Regular Course TR-7-26

Intended for people who have mastered DCS-related engineering to some extent, this course examines theory and applied technology comprehensively from basic process control (ex. PID control) to the latest Advanced Process Control (APC) skills, and broadens knowledge through practical training using a simulator to improve skills related to control technology.

1. Lecture and Practice:
・Overview of Japanese petroleum industry
・Basic control theory (feedback control, PID control, model predictive control)
・Basic process control practice using a DCS simulator connected to a miniature plant (PID parameter tuning, advanced control)
・Practice with a model predictive control simulator
・Cybersecurity
・Safety instrument system
・Operation support system
・Latest instrumentation & control systems

2. Site Visit:

Technology of level gauge and inventory monitoring system

Engineers with a university degree and at least 5 years’ experience in DCS engineering, process control, plant operation, or Advanced Process Control (APC), or those with equivalent qualifications.
