Objective
Objectives of this course are to provide participants with the ability to develop measures to enhance the reliability of rotating equipment, by making them learning the following issues;

・Technical elements which affect the reliability of rotating machinery, quality in the design and manufacturing process of rotating machinery,
・Both theoretical and practical information on reliability management, and
・Evaluation techniques necessary for judging abnormalities in rotating machinery.

・ Overview of the Japanese petroleum industry
・ Japanese oil companies’ technical strategy on the reliability of rotating machinery
・ Condition monitoring specialist (Condition monitoring system for rotating machinery)
・ Steam turbine / process pump manufacturer (Manufacturing process and technical requirements on process pumps and steam turbines)
・ Power generation system manufacturer (GTCC power generation technology, demonstration plant for next-generation ACC)
・ Bearing manufacturer (Bearing selection criteria and maintenance practice)
・ Mechanical seal manufacturer
 (Mechanical seal selection, reliability factors on pump seals)
・ Maintenance contractor
   (Contractor’s responsibilities on inspection and maintenance work at refineries)
・ Oil refining company (General site inspection tour, information exchanges with refinery maintenance engineers)

Mid-level mechanical engineers satisfying the following requirements;

1. Academic background:
・ University Degree in Engineering

2. Job experience:
・ 5 to 10 years for participants from Gulf countries,
・ 8 to 15 years for other participants,
・ In the job field of maintenance and/or reliability engineering on rotary machinery at oil refineries or other related installations.
